When the connector doesn't run automatically

Asked a question but got a plain web answer? Here's how to tell whether the connector engaged — and how to get it running.

    How to spot it

A real run shows a tool-use card and a relationship map in the answer. If you only see "Searched the web," with no tool card and no map, the connector didn't engage — it was just a standard web search.

  2. 2

    Nudge it to run

Ask again with: "Use the APiM Galaxy connector to verify each relationship." That usually gets it to reach for the tools.

  3. 3

    On ChatGPT, pick it first

In ChatGPT, the connector only runs when you select it. Open the + menu, choose APiM Galaxy, then ask — it won't engage on its own.

If it still won't run, it's usually a permission left on "Ask" — see Re-allowing tool permissions. If it did run but the report felt thin, that's usually your AI's model — see Why results depend on your AI's model.
